A Study on the Body Composition Improvement Effects of Dietary Therapy Combined with Wild Ginseng Complex Pharmacopuncture and Herbal Medicine
This study is a retrospective clinical study that analyzed the effect of a diet combined with Mountain Ginseng Complex Pharmacoacupuncture and herbal medicine on body composition changes in obese patients. Treatment was administered for 8-12 weeks to 26 adult patients who visited with obesity as their chief complaint, and changes in weight, BMI, body fat mass, visceral fat area, skeletal muscle mass, and other factors before and after treatment were analyzed using objective examination equipment. As a result, while weight, body fat, and visceral fat significantly decreased, skeletal muscle mass and skeletal muscle ratio showed a tendency to be maintained or increased, confirming a qualitative improvement effect on body composition rather than mere weight loss. This study clinically suggests that Korean medicine obesity treatment can contribute not only to weight reduction but also to healthy weight loss with minimized muscle loss.
