Facial Asymmetry Self-Diagnosis Guide
01 Preparing 4 Photos for Diagnosis
Please prepare the following four photos to check if your face has asymmetry.
- Frontal photo
- Photo with mouth open
- Photo with chin lifted
- Photo showing teeth
02 Asymmetry Check Points by Photo
- Frontal photo: If the tip of the chin deviates from a line drawn from the center of the glabella to the center of the clavicle, it is a sign that your head is tilted or rotated.
- Photo with mouth open: If your lower jaw shifts to one side when you open your mouth, you may suspect facial asymmetry.
- Photo with chin lifted: If there is a height difference between the positions of your ears and cheekbones relative to the clavicle centerline, head rotation can be suspected.
- Photo showing teeth: Normal occlusion occurs when the upper teeth cover the lower teeth by 2โ3mm with no gaps. Be sure to also check if the centerlines of your upper and lower teeth align.
